The second amendment or the right to use Medical Cannabis would assure that using medical marijuana should be legal under specific health conditions. Patients with an issued permit by a doctor would also be permitted to attend documented cannabis treatment facilities. Not just anyone can get a medical marijuana permit though. It’d also issue identification cards, and the Florida Department of Health would lead the fight to control medical cannabis and, develop processes for treatment facilities. In the next paragraph I am going to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using weed, how it can be obtained by poor people and what I believe about the legalization of cannabis and the second amendment.
Medical cannabis has many health benefits including: alleviating chronic pain that comes from illness or alleviating pressure after an active or long day. Sanjay Gupta, MD, the Chief Medical Correspondent for CNN said that there are many valid uses for it and that pot does not have a high potential for abuse, especially if you use it in its liquid THC form. Arthritis is another common disorder, generally in older adults. Without any other treatments, pot continues to be proven to help relieve the symptoms with this disorder too. Although you’ll find several valid advantages of medical cannabis, there are people who claim the legalization of medical marijuana would be dangerous to society and differ.
The Town of Berkeley, Calif. recently declared a new law in which marijuana dispensaries will have to contribute 2% of their cannabis to low income individuals beginning in August of next year . This could be an excellent law that other states like Florida can use to control if they do decide to allow it to be legal to use of cannabis. With the new law, people that are powerless can get access to the marijuana they want which is understood to sell in California for at least $400 an oz. This price is just the street value of the plant-form (what you would normally smoke) of medical cannabis, so other types, including THC e-liquid, may cost more. Poor people can also buy weed online, as an alternative option. This way they can see if the cost can fit their budget. The most significant part about state regulation is that poor families with “debilitating medical conditions” are going to have the opportunity to get the medical cannabis they need to relieve their symptoms.
The legal use of cannabis and those who are against it claim it that increasing its use may be harmful to society. Bishop Ron Allen asserted that cannabis would raise crime and poverty in Berkeley and he clarifies, “Research tells us that cannabis has the same effects on the enjoyment principal system in the mind as heroin and crack cocaine.” Supporters of grass like Mason Tvert, of the Marijuana Policy Project differ with Allen, saying that Allen did not understand what he was talking about and grass has been proven to be less hazardous and less addictive than other drugs.
Another downfall of cannabis is that it’s considered an entry or stepping stone to more dangerous and harmful drugs like heroine or cocaine. It is still continuing to grow: 1997-6.8%, 1998-7.4, and 1999-8.4%. If using cannabis continues to grow and it’s also legalized, how will it be obtained by the poor families if they can not pay for it?
I concur and vote yes on the second amendment which will legalize medical cannabis with all the factual evidence pointing to the benefits of medical cannabis. I’ve a grandma who has epilepsy seizures and in case a dose of appointed cannabis will help relieve some other patient’s symptoms or her, why not give her or other patients dosages? The Epilepsy Foundation released a statement earlier 2 years ago that supported the rights of patients living with epilepsy and seizures to get physician-directed care, including cannabis. There’s absolutely no real evidence of anyone dying from marijuana, and my research reasoned that the benefits of using it are largely favorable. Weighing the advantages of medical cannabis and the fact out that families that are poor may have a means to get it, gives all the motives and factual evidence it needs to legalize pot to the state of Florida.
